Welcome from our principal
Welcome to Mallawa Public School!
We’re so glad you’re here.
At Mallawa Public School, we believe every student deserves to feel inspired and challenged to learn, aim high, and achieve their personal best. We are proud to be a school where students are encouraged to be safe, respectful learners who support one another and contribute positively to our school community.
Our dedicated staff work collaboratively to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed. We strive to develop confident, creative, and resilient learners who are equipped with the skills and knowledge to thrive both at school and beyond.
Nestled 60 kilometres west of Moree, Mallawa Public School is a small, friendly rural school with a proud history dating back to 1959. Our close-knit community enables us to provide personalised learning experiences and individual support for every student from Kindergarten to Year 6. Students travel from local farms and the township each day, arriving ready to learn and contribute to our vibrant school community.
We are proud of our rich traditions, strong community connections, and commitment to providing high-quality educational opportunities for all students. We look forward to partnering with families to support every child on their learning journey.
We are committed to helping every student discover and develop their individual strengths while creating opportunities for growth across all aspects of learning and life—academically, socially, and personally.
We are passionate about improving student outcomes in literacy and numeracy through high-quality, evidence-informed teaching practices. Our teachers utilise research-based strategies and deliver personalised learning experiences that respond to the unique needs, interests, and backgrounds of each student, recognising that every child learns differently.
Technology is an integral part of teaching and learning at Mallawa Public School. To support engagement, creativity, and accessibility, every student has access to their own laptop and iPad, providing opportunities to develop essential digital skills and enhance their learning experiences.
Looking to the future, we remain focused on the successful implementation of the new curriculum and the effective use of assessment and student data to inform teaching and maximise learning growth. Through Personalised Learning Pathways, we work closely with students and families to ensure each child's learning, wellbeing, and aspirations are supported and nurtured.
These priorities are reflected in our 2023–2026 School Excellence Plan, which focuses on improving student achievement, strengthening wellbeing, and fostering meaningful partnerships within our school and wider community.
Thank you for visiting our website. We look forward to working in partnership with you to support every child to thrive, achieve success, and experience a strong sense of belonging at Mallawa Public School.
