Our principal and staff

Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.

Welcome from our principal

Welcome to Mallawa Public School!

We’re so glad you’re here. At Mallawa, we truly believe that every student deserves to feel inspired and challenged to learn, to aim high, and to reach their fullest potential. We pride ourselves on being safe, respectful learners who support one another in a positive and welcoming environment. Our caring and dedicated staff work hard to create a warm and supportive space where students can be creative, thoughtful, and confident learners.

Our school is a small, friendly community nestled 60km west of Moree. Since opening our doors in 1959, we’ve proudly maintained a strong tradition of excellence. Being a small school, each student from Kindergarten to Year 6, receives plenty of individual attention and support. Our students come from nearby farms and our local town, travelling safely each day on our school bus.

We provide programs that focus on bringing out each student’s individual strengths and creating opportunities for growth in all aspects of life — academic, social, and personal. We are passionate about helping every student improve their literacy and numeracy skills. Our teachers use research-backed strategies and tailor learning programs to suit the unique needs and experiences of each student because we understand that everyone learns differently.

Technology plays an important role here, and each student is equipped with their own laptop and iPad to help make learning engaging and accessible.

Looking ahead, we are focused on fully implementing the new curriculum and using assessments and data to guide our teaching and support each student’s growth. Personalised Learning Plans help us ensure every student’s learning journey and wellbeing are carefully nurtured. These goals are part of our 2023-2026 School Plan, which centres on boosting student achievement as well as strengthening connections across our school and broader community.

Thank you for visiting our website. We look forward to partnering with you to support every child’s success and happiness at Mallawa Public School
